Aotearoa Cup!
Yesterday we learned about how Maori came to New Zealand. We designed our own waka using flax stalks. We had to drill holes through the flax stalks and thread wire through. We designed sails and attached these. The best part was testing them out in the school swimming pool!

One day a taniwha...
As part of this term's Inquiry 'Maui and me' we have been learning about the' koru'. Yesterday we went outside in the sunshine and drew taniwha with koru patterns.
Faraday Centre
We were 'blown away' (well nearly!) recently when we went to the Faraday Science Centre. This was part of our Inquiry about weather. We all learned a lot and gained a deeper understanding. We had so much fun trying out the activities.

Room 9's violinists
Today our violin group shared what they have been learning. We enjoyed listening to them and know they must be practising alot in their own time to be doing so well.

Thank you to those parents, grandparents and friends who were able to come along to our Assembly. Everyone in Room 9 practised hard and did a fantastic job on the day! I'm proud of you!
